One composite product that Composite Resources excels at is the production of a wide range of stock composite carbon fiber tubes. The Black Project™ line of composite tube is economically roll-wrapped with 12K 2x2 twill carbon fiber fabric, which is used for a 3 dimensional pattern effect and strength. The composite carbon fiber tube features a machine rolled, tape wrapped outer diameter (OD) finish; this exterior finish has the added benefit of being easily handled and gripped. Black Project™ composite tube is half the weight of comparably-sized aluminum tube; other advantages of our composite tube include outstanding thermal resistance, superb tensile strength, and it is extremely lightweight. This is accomplished using a manufacturing process featuring high strength carbon fiber combined with a binding matrix of epoxy.

Black Project™ carbon fiber composite tube is available in standard sizes from 1/2 inch to 2 inches (including 5/8, 3/4, 7/8, 1, 1-1/4, 1-3/8, 1-1/2, 1-5/8, 1-3/4, and 1-7/8 inch sizes), with standard wall thickness sizes of 0.027, 0.054 and 0.081 inches. Composite tubes come in standard 6-foot lengths, with a tape-wrapped OD standard finish. Other technical specifications are:

Custom composite tube sizes as small as 1/32 of an inch ID up to 15 to 20 inches ID are available, with a nominal tooling charge if applicable. Outer diameters can be centerless ground to a precise tolerance of +/- 0.001 inch as required. Our fully equipped machine shop can machine holes, slots and 4-axis features on the carbon fiber tubes to customize your design. Custom finishes including clear coat, gel coat and paint finishes are also offered.
